Find Lacra from the northeastern city alley
A Friend Like This starts from the alley beneath the walls on Svartrau’s northeastern edge. Use Focus to inspect the yellow-outlined clues, then follow the trail across the roofs to a room with Lacra.
Complete the fight and conversation there to open Song of the Mountain. The next appointment is at Crown Rock at night, so check that objective before spending the phase on other activities.

Where to meet Lacra and how long to wait
For Song of the Mountain, meet Lacra at Crown Rock at night. Give the appointment priority when it appears in the journal, particularly if you want to preserve a peaceful visit to the Uriashi village.
After Hive and Seek, allow one full in-game day to pass and meet Lacra in the fort at night for Our Rotten Roots. After Our Rotten Roots, another full day must pass before the later conversation at the tower near Westridge Outpost Shrine.
A full day means 16 time segments across day and night. Follow the active waiting objective rather than treating a change from daylight to night as a whole day.
Select the expedition before the assault
At the tower, “You had some idea to talk through?” starts The Night of Horrors. “It’s time to deal with Brencis.” starts Midnight Reckoning. Both can appear in the later conversation, so select the expedition first if you still want to explore with Lacra.
Begin The Night of Horrors early in the night. Its main investigation uses a six-segment objective, and the romantic conversation can be missed if the expedition carries you into daylight.
Keep the Uriashi village peaceful
The village guard confrontation in Song of the Mountain can lead to fighting and the loss of village vendors and the Elder’s request. A peaceful approach preserves those conversations even though Lacra would prefer a more forceful solution.
- During the standoff, tell her “Lacra, calm down.”
- Continue with “Nobody needs to die.”
- Use “Can we stop with the hostilities?” as the discussion continues.
- Allow the proposed test to proceed instead of starting a fight.
Ocha’s quest has its own starting point
If the Elder remains available, A Mother’s Plea sends you to Ocha in the Altenmarkt tavern in western Svartrau. Returning with news of Ocha’s choice can reward a Soul Stigma Manual and information about the sacred stone.
The Heart Wants What It Wants can also begin by speaking to Ocha directly in the tavern. Losing the Elder’s request does not by itself prevent that separate starting conversation.
Resolve the later kobold Hive negotiation
Hive and Seek contains another confrontation inside the caves. Accepting the kobolds’ guidance gets you through the tunnels; after defeating Chonk, you can argue against the Hive’s plan to eat the vrakhir flesh.
Use the argument about their shared bond in this order:
- “Calm down and think for a moment.”
- “You can’t all eat at once.”
- “You will lose your bond if you eat it.”
Collect the equipment, relic and blood rewards
Several rewards require an interaction or a dialogue choice. Passing through their quest does not collect every item automatically.
| Item or ability | Where to obtain it | Useful distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Isbrand’s Plate | Open the chest beside Isbrand near the end of Hive and Seek. | Collect it before the following conversation advances the quest. |
| Piercing Shriek rank | The Isbrand blood encounter in Our Rotten Roots. | Counts toward the Brencis-blood ability; account for an already learned rank. |
| Relic of St. Tobias | Finish inspecting the severed arm along the outdoor wisp trail in The Night of Horrors. | Collect it before entering the crypt; it can later be consumed as an Arbiter armour material. |
| The Vrakhir | Inspect the body twice inside the sunken crypt during The Night of Horrors. | A weapon pickup separate from the outdoor relic. |
| Mandrake Ward | Accept the mandrake near the end of The Night of Horrors. | A fatal-hit safeguard with a once-per-night limit. |
| Mesmerise | Accept Lacra’s blood or her alternative phial. | The direct drink and the phial represent one reward choice. |
Isbrand's Plate
The Vrakhir
The Relic of St. TobiasWhen you are ready for Midnight Reckoning
Finish purchases, skill learning and optional conversations while you can still move around Vale Sangora. Keep a separate manual save, then return to Lacra at the tower and choose the Brencis departure line.
Midnight Reckoning takes you through the ruins under Svartrau and into Greifberg. The complete assault route has its own walkthrough; the ending comparison explains how it differs from going alone or joining the manumits.
